Magpie 43

Bridging the Gaps

The space that separates
becomes the mortar that binds—

lava winding through the highlands
of Nepal downward without care

a hardened dental filling
closing the decay

unifying all measure
of humanity.

I really like that first line, Michael:

    'The space that separates
    becomes the mortar that binds—'

    Lovely. :-)

I arrived at your blog by way of Magpie Tales. Nice to meet you.

  2. I love what you saw in the photo ... something no one else saw.

  3. Terrific take off on the bricks of the manor,
and you propel us to chunks of the mortar
of the mind; in just a few words, slender
lines, you whoosh us around the world
and back into your poet's pocket.

  4. This brings to mind a piece I saw last week on the Great Wall of China, and how the mortar was made of a rice mixture. So symbolic. Beautiful piece, Michael.
