Company


There they all are
together in their aloneness.
I wonder if they relish company?
I mean aside from the cadence
of the occasional passerby.

  1. I like your poem. I think the dead are never really gone if someone remembers them. As the late, great Faulkner said, "The past is never dead. It's not even past." So true.

    I love old cemeteries and explore them often. Here in Louisiana there are some as big as cities (mostly in New Orleans, but some in small towns too). xo
