just past the hour of lunacy
I made love on my Mandolin
melody riper then the grapes missed
on the vines
bread broken and settled
the talk fallen to slumber
women seriously quiet
music all there was between us
fools we were drunk on our own
magical creations

Hey! Hey! This one I really like, succinct and captivating. 'Drunk our own magical creations', my favourite line.
An interesting interpretation of the situation depicted. (Did you intend "massed" in line 3 where you have "missed"?)
Your Magpie is magical and lyrical. So lovely .........
Thanks Helen, Thanks Lena.
Doc it is missed, just as it is written. These are very ripend grapes that should have been picked.
"I made love on my Mandolin". Yes, I liked the idea of 'just past the hour of luncay' but chose to quote the former to assure you that contrary to popular belief, it is rare the musician gets girl.
'just past the hour of lunacy' What a great line. Nice Mag.
Ray - I'm not sure the musician was as interested in the girl as the girl might have been of the musician. Who knows... :)
Sue - It seems "just past the hour of lunacy" is a keeper. Tnaks!
Excellent Magpie!

Thinks HyperCryptical - love that name.
